The upcoming Haas Talent Show on May 6 will give the greater Haas community, families, and friends a chance to see that there’s abundant talent at Haas beyond the business school classroom.
From classical music and rock to capoeira and Indian Bollywood dance, students and faculty will display their diversity of cultures and wide-ranging artistic abilities that may not be evident in day-to-day campus life. Even Dean Rich Lyons will participate, singing and playing acoustic guitar.
The show will take place from 7:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. May 6 in the International House auditorium. The show, In its second year, is being organized by co-chairs Li Chien Chen, Jason Dolan, and Miguel Martinez, all MBA 11.
“Jason and I are musicians and have bands and CDs from before Haas. We’re involved in other clubs but this is different. It’s our passion. The quality of the performers is professional,” says Martinez. “We always think about business and want to be creative, so we are seeing that come together in the show.”
A sell-out crowd is expected. Tickets can be bought online at haastalentshow.com or at a sales table in the Haas School courtyard. Early-bird tickets cost $8 until April 29 and include the show and one beverage. Tickets at the door will cost $10.
