A sell-out crowd of about 200 top thinkers in energy policy—including academics, regulators, and business leaders—will gather for the 17th Annual POWER Conference on Energy Research and Policy March 22 on the Clark Kerr campus in Berkeley.
The conference, organized by Energy Institute at Haas, will run from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Advance registration is encouraged, and an early-bird discount is available through March 12.
"The POWER conference highlights research on some of the most pressing energy issues of the day,” says Haas Professor Severin Borenstein, co-director of the Energy Institute. “This year we’ll have papers on employment impacts of energy costs, the effectiveness of programs for improving energy efficiency, implementing cap-and-trade for greenhouse gases, and integrating renewable energy.”
Haas Professors Lucas Davis and Paul Gertler will present their paper "Cash for Coolers: Evaluation of a Large-Scale Appliance Replacement Program in Mexico."
The conference includes ample time for networking, including a closing reception from 5 to 6:30 with music by the jazz combo “Solar Wind.”
