Catherine Mary "Kay" Coates, MBA 73Catherine Mary “Kay” Coates (née Drinkwater), 74, died peacefully on September 16, 2020. After earning her Berkeley MBA, Coates enjoyed a successful career in the international banking division of Bank of America, rising to the level of senior vice president and working in London and San Francisco. Following retirement and the 1994 death of her beloved husband, Bill, Coates relocated to New York City, where she was a volunteer leader and chair of the New York Advisory Board for the Trust for Public Land. She was also a long-standing and active trustee to the Berkeley Art Museum and Pacific Film Archive, a founding member of UC Berkeley’s New York Chancellor’s Council, and a member of Berkeley Haas’ Alumni Board and Development Council.
