Living With Uncertainty: Real Estate Conference Looks to 2012

As the battered real estate market limps toward 2012, more than 500 leaders in real estate, finance, government, policy, and law will gather Nov. 21 at the Fisher Center for Real Estate and Urban Economics’ 34th Annual Real Estate & Economics Symposium to share insights into what the new year will bring.

The conference will be held from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Westin St. Francis, San Francisco. One major highlight will be Fisher Center Chairman Ken Rosen’s popular annual real estate forecast.

With more than a quarter of homes underwater nationally and continued instability in commercial markets, the conference this year will focus on the theme "Managing Real Estate Risks in Uncertain Times: Insights into Tomorrow’s Real Estate Markets Today."

The speaker lineup includes Henry Cisneros, former secretary of Housing and Urban Development and executive chairman of institutional investment firm CityView; Kathryn August deWilde, president and COO of First Republic Bank; Matt Lynch, managing director of UBS Realty Investors LLC; and James Saccacio, CEO of RealtyTrac.
