Latin American Business Conference Convenes at Haas, Feb. 24

The Berkeley Latin American Business Conference will address long-term microeconomic prospects and challenges in the region on Friday, Feb. 24, in the Wells Fargo Room.

The third annual event, organized by the student-run Latin American and Hispanic Business Association, will run from 9:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. 

Keynote speakers include Walter Schalka, CEO of Brazilian cement company Votorantim Cimentos and Stelleo Tolda, COO of MercadoLibre, the largest online trading platform in Latin America. 

In addition to the keynotes, the conference includes two panels: “Clean Energy in Latin America” and “Technology Entrepreneurship and Venture Capital in Latin America.” It concludes with a networking event in the Bank of America Forum. 

Early registration is advised, as the event is likely to sell out. Tickets cost between $10 and $35. Early-bird prices are available until Friday, Feb. 10. For more information, visit LAHBAConfence.com.
