Trade policies unraveled: Q&A with economist Matilde Bombardini

The Berkeley Haas Evening & Weekend MBA Program again ranked No. 1 among part-time MBA programs in the 2025 U.S. News & World Report Best MBA Program rankings.
Haas, which offers an evening, weekend, and Flex option to part-time MBA students, tied for No. 1 with Chicago Booth and Northwestern’s Kellogg School of Management.
The Berkeley Haas MBA for Executives Program placed No. 6 among EMBA programs, rising from No. 7 last year.
The Berkeley Haas Full-time MBA remained the No. 1 public MBA program in the country and ranked No. 11 overall, tied with the University of Virginia Darden.
The FTMBA Peer Assessment rank rose to No. 6 nationally, reflecting the Haas School’s strong reputation for academic excellence and innovation. The program also ranked No. 4 in the specialty rankings for entrepreneurship, nonprofit management, and real estate; No. 8 in finance; and No. 10 in business analytics and management. The specialty rankings are based on peer assessments.
Methodology shift
U.S. News shifted its methodology this year in one key area—from one- to two-year weighted averages for all employment data. This shift disproportionately impacted schools like Haas with a larger percentage of full-time MBA graduates working in tech during the downturn.

- 20% Mean starting salary and bonus (excluding stock and equity options)
- 13% Employment rates three months after graduation
- 10% Salary by profession
- 7% Employment rates at graduation (weighted)
- Academic Insights (20%)
- 10% Undergraduate GPA
- 10% GMAT/GRE
- 12.5% Peer school assessment scores
- 12.5% Recruiter assessment scores
- 5% Work experience
