Women in Leadership Conference to Focus on Setting One’s Own Path, March 5

The annual Women in Leadership Conference on March 5 at Haas will focus on “Redefining Leadership—Making it Your Own” and feature keynote speakers from the biotech, wine, and cosmetics industries.

The keynote speakers at the student-run event will be:

Nancy Mahon (top), senior vice president, M·A·C Cosmetics, executive director, M·A·C AIDS Fund

Heather MasonHeather L. Mason (middle), president, Abbott Diabetes Care, senior vice president, Abbott Laboratories

Eileen Crane (bottom), CEO/Founding Winemaker, Domaine Carneros, board member, Napa Valley Hospice

A few hundred women are expected to gather at Haas for the conference, which is now in its 15th year.

I’m excited about bringing the community together to inspire all the attendees to follow the theme of the conference—following their passion and finding their own path and success,” says Lisa Hadjinian, MBA 11, who helped organize the conference. “Seeing women who have been successful and not taken a set path, but changed courses along their careers, should encourage others to do the same. We want everyone to get excited to take the risk of following their passion.”

The event will include seven industry-specific morning panels, focusing on such fields as consulting, entrepreneurship, energy, and financial services. Seven afternoon workshops will focus on such topics as blazing to the top, finding your passion, and negotiating effectively.

Sponsors include Abbott, PG&E, LifeScan, St. Joseph's University, Chevron, and McKesson. This year’s co-chairs are Tina Ma and Kim Trout, both MBA 11.

Early-bird pricing is available until Feb. 15 and discounts are available to nonprofit professionals, Haas faculty and alumni, students, and current members of the Women in Leadership Club. Visit wilconference.org to register.
