The 8th annual Business of Health Care Conference on Feb. 28 will bring together innovators and thought leaders to examine the latest frontiers in the field and also feature a hands-on expo to showcase disruptive health care technologies.
The student-run conference will take place from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. at the Hotel Nikko in San Francisco. The theme this year is "Exploring New Frontiers."
Three health care leaders will give keynote speeches:
- Dr. Robert Pearl, Executive Director and CEO, The Permanente Medical Group, and President and CEO, Mid-Atlantic Permanente Medical Group. Pearl is responsible for the health care that is delivered to approximately 4 million Kaiser Permanente members by 9,000 physicians and 34,000 staff members California, Virginia, Maryland, and the District of Columbia.
- Ryan Howard, Founder and CEO, Practice Fusion. Founded in 2005, the company has grown into the nation's largest physician-patient community, serving more than 75 million patients with a platform that connects doctors, pharmacies, labs, and imaging centers.
- Lance Scott, Divisional Vice President, Global Market Development, Abbott Vascular. Scott leads strategic marketing activities and new product planning for the coronary product portfolio, including stents and bioabsorbable technology.
The conference also will include breakout sessions on a variety of topics, including "Transforming Prevention Through Technology," "Using Big Data to Solve Big Problems in Health Care," and "Exploring Obamacare’s Winners and Losers."
