Thirty-three seniors in the Haas Undergraduate Program have been invited to join Beta Gamma Sigma as the business school reactivates its local chapter of the international society, which honors academic achievement in the study of business.
The seniors, who are in the top 10 percent of their class, will join 30 Haas faculty and staff, including Dean Rich Lyons, who are themselves members of Beta Gamma Sigma. Berkeley was a founding chapter of the society when the society was created a century ago. Since then, the society has grown to more than 450 chapters around the world.
Beta Gamma Sigma membership provides lifetime recognition and benefits, including a job board, subscriptions to Bloomberg Business Week and Fortune, and discounts on professional attire from such retailers as Macy’s, Men’s Wearhouse, and Banana Republic.
Lyons recognized the 33 seniors who qualify for membership at an undergraduate reception Monday. They are:
