Conference to Probe Health Care Reform, Technology, Feb. 6

Executives on the forefront of health care reform and technology will present keynote speeches at the fourth annual Business of Health Care Conference from 7:45 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 6, at the Haas School.

Lloyd H. Dean, president and CEO of Catholic Healthcare West, will give a keynote talk on health care reform, carrying out the conference's theme "Healthcare’s Changing Landscape: Delivering a Healthier Future.”

Keynote speakers David J. Brailer, chairman of Health Evolution Partners, will speak on health IT, and Peter Maag, CEO of Novartis Diagnostics, will explore bringing novel diagnostic solutions to market.

More than 350 people are expected to attend the event, which will include three breakout sessions. Breakout session speakers include Jason Hwang, an internal medicine physician and executive director of health care at Innosight Institute, a nonprofit think-tank devoted to applying the theories of disruptive innovation to problems in the social sector.

In another breakout session, Barbara Fantuso of Frog Design, will share insights on how social networks, mobile applications, and connected devices are expected to spur innovations in health care. A third breakout session will focus on strategies for biopharma/device growth.
