The Haas School’s Evening & Weekend MBA Program ranked #1 in academic quality and earned A’s for its caliber of classmates and curriculum in BusinessWeek’s part-time MBA ranking published Nov. 10.
Overall, the program ranked #5, behind Elon, UCLA, Carnegie Mellon, and Tepper but ahead of such schools as University of Michigan, USC, and Chicago Booth.
Berkeley-Haas tied for first place for academic quality with business schools at Kennesaw State and Virginia Polytechnic. The academic quality score, which comprises 30 percent of the ranking, includes GMAT, work experience, tenured faculty, class size, electives, and completion rate. The remainder of the ranking is based on a graduating student survey (40 percent) and post-MBA outcomes (30 percent), which is the percentage of student survey respondents from each school who say their part-time MBA program was “completely” responsible for their having achieved career goals.
The EWMBA program ranked #3 in the previous BusinessWeek ranking in 2009. In U.S. News & World Report, the only other part-time MBA ranking, the school’s Evening & Weekend MBA Program ranks #3.
