Bain & Co. Worldwide Managing Director to Speak at Haas, Feb. 3

Steve Ellis, BA 85 (History, Economics), worldwide managing director of Bain & Company, will speak at the Haas School at 12:30 p.m. Feb. 3 in the Wells Fargo Room.

The Dean's Speaker Series event is open to the Haas community and a light lunch will be served. Registration is required at register.haas.berkeley.edu/SteveEllis/SteveEllis.aspx.

Ellis has been a leader in Bain's worldwide technology and telecommunications practice and the firm's private equity group. He has worked in a wide range of industries, including computer hardware and software, financial services, energy services, and real estate. Ellis has led engagements addressing business and corporate strategy, sales and marketing effectiveness, operational improvement, acquisition valuation, merger integration, and change management.

Before becoming worldwide managing director in 2005, Ellis served as office head of Bain's San Francisco and Palo Alto offices. He also serves as a general partner in the firm's Venture Capital Fund. He came to Bain in 1993 from a Silicon Valley strategy consulting firm that he co-founded in 1989.
