Alumni Events: Welcoming New Students, from Las Vegas to Spain

Local alumni chapters across the U.S. and around the globe are hosting a series of parties for new admits that began in April and will last through August.

Whether in Shanghai or Seattle, Boston or Buenos Aires, grads and undergrads who have accepted admission and those still deciding will have a chance to network with alumni, meet other students, and learn a bit more about what Haas has to offer.

“Students will get to know each other as classmates and get a chance to network with alumni who might be able to offer them internships or jobs when they graduate,” says Leslie Kanberg, director of alumni relations. “And they will see firsthand how powerful the Haas Alumni Network is.”

In the U.S., a newly formed alumni chapter in Las Vegas held its first welcome party this year in May. Thanks to active recruiting in South America, parties were held in Santiago, Sao Paolo, and Buenos Aires. In Asia, the celebrations hit such cities as Shanghai, Tokyo, and Taipei.

Spain’s welcome reception kicked off the Berkeley Weekend in Barcelona, which included a Symposium on Leadership and Innovation presented by Dean Rich Lyons; Adjunct Professor Henry Chesborough, PhD 97; and Greg Greeley, MBA 98, vice president of European retail for Amazon, among others.
