Hoping to bring more veterans to Haas, the business school will offer ten scholarships of up to $10,000 per year each for graduate business students that will be matched by the US Dept. of Veterans Affairs Yellow Ribbon Program starting this fall.
The purpose of the program is to provide financial assistance for US military veterans who are attending graduate school with Post 9/11 GI Bill veterans' benefits.
The scholarship is meant to bridge the difference between the Haas tuition and required fees and maximum funding provided by the Dept. of Veterans Affairs (VA). The Haas School and the VA bridge the difference in equal parts. As part of its participation in the Yellow Ribbon Program, Haas is allocating funds for eight scholarships to full-time MBA students and one each to a student in the Evening & Weekend MBA and the Master’s of Financial Engineering program on a first-come, first-served basis.
All veterans who are registered to receive 100 percent of the post 9/11 GI Bill benefits, which requires a minimum of 36 months of active duty, are eligible to apply. Eligible veterans already enrolled at Haas are also able to apply. If approved, the student will receive the benefits every year until graduation.
