Panel to Explore Quantitative Finance Careers, Sept. 21

Want to learn more about the world of quantitative finance? A panel discussion titled “How I Became A Quant,” on Tuesday, Sept. 21, is designed for students interested in the field.

A panel of financial engineers with various specialties will offer a personal perspective on careers in quantitative finance. The panelists will share their experiences within the rapidly growing field and engage in a moderated discussion, with plenty of time for student questions. Confirmed panelists include Mike Rierson, head of research, index, and model-based portfolios at asset management firm BlackRock and Swaroop Yalla, a research analyst at Morgan Stanley.

The event will be held in Andersen Auditorium. Registration begins at 5:30 p.m., the program begins at 6 p.m., and a reception follows at 7:30 p.m. This event, which is also a networking opportunity for students and alumni, is presented by the International Association of Financial Engineers Education Committee and the Fischer Black Memorial Foundation.
