New Vendor to Dish Up Food at Haas

The vendor who serves up salads, sandwiches, and lattes at Boalt Hall and Café Strada has been selected to begin operating the Haas Café starting Dec. 1.

Haas Assistant Dean Alice Kubler announced last week that Stradavarius Inc. was selected to manage the Haas Café after a competitive bidding process. To ensure that the menu selections at Haas are unique from its other cafés, Stradavarius will hire a new chef exclusively for the Haas School.

Full-time MBA students will conduct market research among Haas students, faculty, and staff to advise owner Daryl Ross on the proposed menu selections and operations, as part of a class project, over the next several weeks. Stradavarius also will establish a Haas Café Advisory Committee to provide ongoing feedback to Ross.

Between Dec. 1 and mid-January the café space will undergo moderate remodeling, including new furniture, lighting, and paint. During that period, Stradavarius will offer a limited selection of fresh sandwiches, salads, coffee, and tea in the front area of the existing café space during the usual café hours.

The new Haas Café will have a grand opening event in mid-January.
