New LinkedIn Group for Haas Women Takes Off

A new LinkedIn group for Haas women has quickly attracted more than 1,000 members just days after its March 9 launch.

The group, called Berkeley-Haas Network of Women, or NOW, is the fastest-growing LinkedIn group that Haas has ever launched. NOW's mission is to provide a forum for the support, promotion, and advancement of women and women's issues. It is open to Haas alumnae and female students, faculty, and staff.

"It’s exciting to see NOW take off so quickly," says Tenny Frost, Haas executive director of alumni relations and annual giving . "The creation of this group on LinkedIn directly supports the school's efforts in diversity, inclusion, and equity."

The group provides a platform for continuous and active networking, as well as a channel for delivering relevant and timely dialogue on business and economic issues. Haas women can use this forum to discuss ways to set trends, influence, innovate, strategize, and leverage women’s participation in the global business world.

Recent posts include a link to a talk by Facebook COO Sheryl Sandberg titled "Why we have too few women leaders (hint: it's not men's fault)"; and a job posting for an experienced marketing manager.

Seven moderators–alumnae representing nearly every academic program at Haas–will manage and provide content to the NOW group.
