Golfers Swing in Nearly $85,000 for Haas

Teeing off at the 9th annual Haaski Golf Open and Auctions paid off. And not just in golf skills and networking opportunities.

As the sun shined down on more than 100 guests at the Claremont Country Club in Oakland, the May 23 event raised $84,860 for the Haas School from raffle tickets, donations, live and silent auction items, sponsorships, and golf fees.

"Haaski participants showed their loyal and generous support for Haas," says Laurent "Lo" de Janvry, the school's annual giving director.

Those participants included such Cal celebrities as volleyball coach Rich Feller, basketball coach Mike Montgomery, football coach Jeff Tedford, Haas Marketing Professor Emeritus David Aaker, and former business school Dean Ray Miles.

In addition, Mark French, MBA 98, received the Haaski Leadership Award in recognition of his work on the tournament's steering committee. French's dedication was on full display last year, when he played all 18 holes in the rain.
