Berkeley-Columbia Ranked Third in U.S. by Financial Times

The Berkeley-Columbia Executive MBA Program moved up to third place this year among U.S.-held executive MBA programs and retained its spot at #13 worldwide in a Financial Times ranking published Oct. 25.

Only Wharton and Duke University’s Fuqua School ranked ahead of Berkeley-Columbia among programs held on U.S. soil. Last year the program ranked fourth among U.S programs.

The ranking is based on responses from alumni from the class of 2007 and on data provided by participating programs. Alumni responses account for 55 percent of the ranking. Berkeley-Columbia alumni ranked their program #12 for “aims achieved.”

In a section called “Idea Generation,” which counts for 20% of the ranking, the Berkeley-Columbia program ranked #2 in doctoral placements at top 50 schools and #5 in faculty research. The remaining 20% of the ranking are based on international and diversity factors of each program.

The Financial Times developed the Berkeley-Columbia ranking by combining data from the Haas School and from Columbia Business School.
